Building a Bridge




This is a quick sketch I did to block in a pose.
It's an example of how I start a symmetrical pose by first finding the essential paths the figure falls upon - note the line from the foot to the shoulder and the line that defines the path of the arms.
Everything from there begins as a directional line and turns toward anatomical description.
If the gesture is complete the anatomy should just fall into place.
When working out a pose, don't underestimate the use of the gesture and don't rush to detail.
