It's the first post of the new year and I'd like to start it off by remembering a good life.

About four years ago our drawing class was graced with the fine presence of a majestic model by the name of Lui. At the end of the three hour session he had made a friend of everyone he met (and sniffed). Indeed, not just those who attended the class but students from neighbouring classrooms all loved meeting Lui that day.

Sadly, on January 12th, Lui passed away. He was the much-loved four-legged best friend to Ken, Jacqui and Ashley. There's a lot of good things I can say about Lui but what I remember most is that he was a smart, beautiful dog whose gentle nature - especially around kids - had to be seen to be believed. There will never be another like him.

Dog speed, Lui.
