Frank Frazetta 1928-2010

One of my earliest influences, Frank Frazetta, has died.
When I was a kid, I would pore over "The Fantastic Art of Frank Frazetta" for hours, often copying the illustrations over and over trying to figure out just how he did what he did. His art had a beautiful looseness that also managed to contain a stunning degree of accuracy - not just in the anatomy but also in how he rendered everything from the tarnished and battle worn swords and helmets to the imagined landscapes his characters dwelled in. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say he influenced everyone who ever drew, painted or sculpted a barbaric warrior.
